This ride departs from Stanley Street car park, St Ives after the rider briefing. First timers to the group should identify themselves at this point to ensure they are fully informed of the format of the ride and if applicable which group they should ride with.
The group is then lead out riding two abreast down Mona Vale Road. Along Mona Vale Road the front riders hold their position until the left turn into Kitchener Street, St Ives.
After the first short climb we regroup at the top and head along trails around the rear of St Ives Showground. From here it’s some fun single track for about 2km’s.
The next descent is fast and EXTREME CAUTION must be taken due to some tight corners and water bars, please ensure your pace is controllable during the descent.
We regroup at the bottom crossing the creek ready for the next small climb out of the gully. Unlike the Saturday morning ride we turn left and follow the Sandy Trail to the end coming out in Duffys Forest. From here it’s down some sweet single track at the edge of the NSW Gun Club, across Booralie Road (please use caution) and onto some cool trails leading us to the Long Trail which takes us out to Peach Trees Lookout over Berowra. We stop here to take in the view and have a breather.
The return journey takes us back along the Long Trail but we then we turn left and head along the Perimeter Trail before crossing Booralie Road again and back onto trails to Forest Way. This time we head along an alternate trail back to St Ives Showground. We cross Mona Vale and head bush again before the Nasty Little Hill bringing us back to Mona Vale Road in St Ives for coffee at Pattisons on Mona Vale Road.
